Biographical sketch    
        Ana Villagordo
(Barcelona, 1979)
Graduate in Environmental Science (2002)
     
    Degree in Environmental Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2002) and post-graduate degree in Marine Pollution and Human Effects on Marine Systems (2003) from the International University Study Center (IUSC).

Obtained an Erasmus grant during the last year of her university studies (2001) to specialise in coastal water management in Nantes (France), where she completed her final degree project on Water management and conflicts over use in the Bay of Bourgneuf, supervised by the director of the Institut de Géographie et d'Aménagement Régional de l'Université de Nantes (IGARUN). In 2003 she completed the project on Impact of human activities on the coastal ecosystem: technical manual as part of post-graduate studies in Coastal Management at IUSC. Later, she took part in activities related to integrated management of coastal zones in Catalonia under the Community initiative programme for environmental evaluation of plans and programmes, in cooperation with the Environment and Housing Department and IUSC. Has worked for ERF as an environmental technician since November 2002, drawing up regional studies and sustainable management and socio-environmental communication projects in close cooperation with multidisciplinary teams. She has combined this work as an environmental technician with documentation work (2004).

Since joining ERF, Ana Villagordo has increased her skills in several areas, notably in regional and urban planning, by attending specialist courses and seminars, and geographic information systems (GIS), learning more about using Miramón (standard and advanced) at CREAF and ArcView (8.x and 9.x) at the Geographic and Teledetection Information Laboratory (LIGIT) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Her hobbies include drawing and dancing, and she never misses a chance to travel and discover new landscapes and cultures all over the world.
