    David Bessó graduated as a civil engineer from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (2007). In 2004, he received a grant from the Erasmus programme to train in mobility and urban planning at the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne (Switzerland). In 2003, he joined the Secretariat for Territorial Planning, attached to the Catalan Autonomous Government's Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Works, where he developed a computer application to calculate the capacity of linear infrastructure.

In 2005 and 2006, David worked for Barcelona Metropolitan Transport (EMT), where he supervised bus service quality control processes and took part in several planning studies aimed at improving the metropolitan public transport system.

He has also worked in the private sector. In early 2007, he joined the engineering company SIENA, helping to draw up construction projects for streets and structures.

At the same time, in 2005 and 2006, as a volunteer for Engineers without Borders, he went twice to Cameroon, where he wrote his end-of-studies thesis, a study of the socio-economic impact of the urban planning improvements to slum neighbourhoods that this NGO is carrying out in the country's capital.

David joined ERF as an environmental technician in December 2007, starting to work on environmental assessment studies for mobility plans and the environmental monitoring of civil works.
