        Inés ALOMAR

    Having graduated as an industrial engineer from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), specialising in thermal energy (2001), Inés Alomar is currently studying Architecture at the same university. During her final year as an Industrial Engineering student, she obtained an Erasmus grant to study at the Denmark Technick University, where she completed her graduate project, entitled District Heating and Cooling at the 22@, Barcelona. This experience brought Inés into contact with the world of alternative energy supply solutions to traditional systems.

After seven years' experience in the renewable energy and sustainable architecture sector, her approach to engineering and architecture has become highly marked by the search for new ways of understanding our relations with our habitat and our lives: holistic and ingenious, but also rational.

For three years (2001-2004), she worked in the field of thermal modelling for buildings, using advanced energy simulation tools and increasing her understanding of energy and thermal behaviour in buildings. Later, she joined Barcelona Energy Agency, working with the technical management team on the projects District Heating and Cooling From Waste Cooling from the Port of Barcelona's Regasification Plant and The Parks and Gardens Biomass Plant, two outstanding initiatives in the field of energy supply for cities.

Since February 2007, she has been working on sustainable building projects as a consultant specialising in energy, contributing solutions and alternatives for specific projects; assisting with the building environmental certification process; and designing systems based on sustainable criteria. She joined ERF in November 2007, forming part of the firm's building projects team.

Her hobbies include reading and dance, as well as relaxing in nature, whether around her home or on her travels around the world.
