        Marina GUARDIOLA

    Marina Guardiola took her degrees in Biology (2007) and Environmental Science (2008) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

In 2006, Marina was awarded a grant to study at the University of Glasgow for one year, working on an Honours Project entitled Reintroduction Management Plan for Wolves into the Scottish Highlands. This project was sent to the Scottish Parliament to provide scientific backup and guidelines for action in the debate on reintroducing wolves into Scotland. During her time at Glasgow University, she also gave a course of on geographic information systems (GIS) based on using ArcView and ArcGis.

In 2007, in cooperation with J. Basagaña, as a member of the Museum of Mataró and El Maresme Natural Science Section, she drew up a project to provide ponds for the reproduction and conservation of amphibians in the Cinc Sènies - Mata - Valldeix farming area. The project was submitted to the call for proposals announced by the Territory and Landscape Foundation in 2008.

In 2008, she joined Mataró Municipal Environment Council as an outside expert. The Council was established to advise the local authority in areas of environmental policy. Marina also contributes occasional popular science articles to the magazine Valors.

Before joining ERF, she worked as an environmental educator (2000 - 2004) and as a free-lance for Barcelona City Council's Parks and Gardens Department (2007)

Marina studied music at the Liceu Opera House Conservatory in Barcelona, and continues to play the cello, whilst her other hobbies include hiking and writing short stories and plays.
